In-person only Job Description The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and wireless infrastructure across multiple NJ Transit facilities. This role requires hands-on expertise in cellular technologies, network resiliency, and mission-critical communication systems. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, support, and maintain enterprise network and wireless infrastructure across transportation facilities including data centers, rail stations, bus garages, office buildings, dispatch centers, and remote sites. Design and support wireless cellular technologies such as LTE, 5G, DAS, WWAN, and mobile network solutions. Ensure high availability of network infrastructure supporting 24x7 operations with a focus on redundancy and operational continuity. Perform wireless signal analysis, coverage validation, interference troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Support out-of-band (OOB) connectivity solutions using cellular technologies for remote management and resilience. Analyze user requirements for voice and data services and recommend appropriate solutions. Participate in vulnerability remediation, security audits, incident response, and infrastructure hardening efforts. Evaluate technical and cost proposals for telecommunications equipment and provide recommendations. Conduct voice and data traffic engineering analysis to maintain and improve service levels. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience). Core Skills & Experience Minimum 4+ years of experience in telecommunications, including voice and data networking. Hands-on experience with CradlePoint modem configuration and operational support. Experience working in a PBX and/or network environment with strong client interaction. Expertise in wireless cellular technologies including LTE, 5G, DAS, cellular gateways, and carrier services. Strong understanding of wireless network architecture, RF fundamentals, and mobile communication infrastructure. Experience supporting mission-critical wireless infrastructure and transportation communication systems. Experience with platforms such as Cisco, Cradlepoint, Sierra Wireless, Digi, Aruba, or similar technologies. Preferred Certifications

CCNP CWNA / CWNP

Cisco Wireless or equivalent certifications Work Environment Requires fieldwork at transportation facilities, remote sites, data centers, rail stations, and outdoor locations. Typically 1-2 days per week in office at 2 Gateway, Newark, NJ, with remaining days at field locations. No work-from-home option. May require after-hours support for emergency outages and maintenance activities. #

GSKIT Pay:

$70.00 - $75.00 per hour
