CONTROLS SYSTEM ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY
| ONSITE |
STATIONED IN RENO, NV / CEDAR RAPIDS, IA
Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Controls Systems Engineer, where you will work onsite at data centers, semiconductor, life sciences, and industrial buildings. This role offers opportunities for growth and travel, accompanied by per diem benefits. Your work will directly contribute to delivering high‑performance control systems that improve efficiency, product quality, and overall operational performance in process manufacturing environments. You will also be responsible for defining and implementing PLC configurations, performing system testing, and supporting on‑site commissioning and qualification efforts. Responsibilities Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems Develop and implement automation solutions tailored to client needs Ensure the control systems are operating efficiently and effectively Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with other technologies Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of control systems Provide technical support and training to onsite staff Essential Skills Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude Understanding of control systems and HMI programming Proficiency in troubleshooting and experience with mechanical assembly Experience with the commissioning process Ability to perform safety analysis and documentation Additional Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience with PPE gear Engineering degree, associates degree, or equivalent experience Flexible schedule and the ability to adapt with changing project needs Enthusiasm for learning, development, and continuous improvement Work Environment This is a 12 month, contract-to-hire opportunity that is based onsite requiring the use of PPE gear in a construction-type environment. The work schedule typically consists of either 6 days of 10-hour shifts or 5 days of 10-hour shifts, depending on the week. Any hours worked over 40 per week will be paid at 1.5x the consultant's base hourly rate. Additional Information - PLEASE READ! Consultants for this position will be stationed onsite in Reno, NV or Cedar Rapids, IA until the project is completed. Once the project is finished, consultants will be stationed at a new project site until the project is completed, and so on. Since consultants are required to sit onsite until project completion, this opportunity is considered to be 100% travel. Consultants will receive per diem during their time spent onsite based on the cost-of-living per location. Per diem is to be spent on housing, food, and travel home when not scheduled to work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
