Job Description

Monitors, troubleshoots, and supports high-availability IP networks, communications systems, and network infrastructure within a 24/7 operations center. Job Requirements Associate degree or equivalent two-year post-secondary training with relevant experience, or high school diploma/GED with applicable network operations experience. U.S. citizenship required due to program and contract access requirements. CCNA, Security+, equivalent certification, or active coursework toward certification. Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols. Knowledge of computer hardware, software interconnections, and network interfaces. Experience troubleshooting Cisco network devices. Experience with HSRP and BGP routing protocols. Experience monitoring and troubleshooting network performance. Prior customer service or technical support experience. Ability to work in a 24/7/365 operations environment, including weekends and holidays. Preferred Skills Experience in a Network Operations Center environment. Experience monitoring routers, switches, firewalls, and network circuits. Experience supporting high-availability IP networks. Experience with incident management systems. Experience with messaging or data communications systems. Experience with air-to-ground communication systems. Experience supporting transport, datalink, or network application environments. Experience with network deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities. Experience developing tools or scripts to improve network operations processes. Job Responsibilities Monitor network management systems and identify service-impacting events. Engage telecommunications providers to support circuit and network restoration efforts. Track incidents and maintain accurate information within incident management systems. Troubleshoot network, system, and communications issues. Monitor high-availability IP networks and associated communications infrastructure. Monitor routers, switches, firewalls, circuits, and related network components. Troubleshoot Cisco network devices and routing issues involving HSRP and BGP. Monitor system and network performance and resolve or escalate service-impacting incidents. Support air-to-ground data communications equipment and systems. Monitor ground stations, radio systems, and central processing systems used for datalink communications. Monitor messaging applications and network channels supporting high-volume data transmission. Escalate complex or critical service issues to senior technical personnel as required. Support deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network systems. Participate in network solution design and configuration activities. Analyze technical issues and provide resolution guidance. Support incident restoration activities for critical network and communications services. Complete cross-training across Transport, DataLink, and Applications network operations functions.
Pay:
