Job Description:
This role is only open to candidates who are authorized to work in the U.S. permanently. Candidates requiring sponsorship, H1B, STEM OPT, or C2C arrangements now or in the future will not be considered. Seeking an Automation/Controls Engineer to design, develop, and commission PLC and SCADA control systems, provide technical support, and ensure high-quality automation solutions for clients. This role involves programming, troubleshooting, and supporting control system hardware and software, with some travel required for on-site commissioning and support.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and commission PLC and SCADA control system applications, including advanced features such as analog data handling, scripting, and database interfacing. Specify, purchase, and troubleshoot control system hardware and instrumentation, including both field and panel-mounted devices. Review, develop, and approve control system design documents and drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. Provide on-site commissioning, customer training, validation, and service support, including approximately 10% overnight travel to client locations. Set up, configure, and test computers and software as part of control system integration, including virtualization and thin client technologies. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including commissioning reports, field service logs, and engineering specifications. Stay current with industry standards, cGMP procedures, and emerging technologies relevant to automation and control systems. Collaborate with project teams, support sales efforts, and deliver exceptional customer service and technical support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or engineering technology required. Minimum of three years' experience in control system design and programming. Proficiency in programming and commissioning Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, PLC-5) using RSLogix, and SCADA systems (Wonderware and/or GE iFix). Experience with scripting, security configuration, recipe configuration, database interfacing, and report configuration in SCADA environments. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to handle multiple assignments. Familiarity with cGMP procedures and validation processes preferred. Valid driver's license required; ability to travel overnight as needed. Confined space entry training required or willingness to obtain.
