Job Description

Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Mason, Ohio . Overview As a controls engineer, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. This role offers early-career engineers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive environment. Responsibilities Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams Help develop technical documentation (QA/QC, test plans) Participate in
BUAT/UAT/FAT
testing and post-installation support Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field Up to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms) Experience or interest in post and parcel operations (preferred) Technical Skills (Preferred)

Ignition, SOPAS, SST Profibus Config Tool, Datalogic DataMan Work Expectations This position requires extensive travel (~85%) with the candidate working onsite in Mason, OH when not traveling. Hours will range from 40 to 60 per week depending on project phase, with weekly reimbursement for expenses. Travel involves working in dynamic environments with a high level of collaboration and communication. We thank all applicants for their interest.
