Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Mason, Ohio . Overview As a controls engineer, you will support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. This role offers early-career engineers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic, travel-intensive environment. Responsibilities Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning Support project scope, schedule, and deliverables Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams Help develop technical documentation (QA/QC, test plans) Participate in
BUAT/UAT/FAT
testing and post-installation support Contribute to customer training and troubleshooting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field Up to 4 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms) Experience or interest in post and parcel operations (preferred) Technical Skills (Preferred) PLC & HMI

Hours will range from 40 to 60 per week depending on project phase, with weekly reimbursement for expenses. Travel involves working in dynamic environments with a high level of collaboration and communication. We thank all applicants for their interest.
