Network Engineer Network Engineer Location:
Reynoldsburg, OH - Onsite 5 days a week Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure. The role is focused on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Windows Server environments and network services. You will troubleshoot complex network issues, manage routing and DNS, and deploy and maintain firewalls and switches to support business operations and cybersecurity objectives. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure including switches, routers, and wireless components. Administer and maintain Windows Server environments and related network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory integration). Configure and manage routing protocols and TCP/IP networking to ensure reliable connectivity and optimized performance. Implement, manage, and monitor firewalls and security controls to protect the network from threats and maintain compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and performance issues; perform root cause analysis and preventative remediation. Collaborate with IT teams to support virtualization platforms, system integrations, and service deployments. Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. Participate in on-call rotation and provide timely response to critical network events and outages. Evaluate and recommend network and security technologies, tools, and best practices to improve infrastructure resilience. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in network engineering or systems/network administration roles. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP preferred), and network troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and network service integration. Proven experience configuring and managing firewalls and switches in enterprise environments. Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing security controls in network architectures. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent are a plus.
Nice to have:
hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama, and working knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies.
