This position will work alongside experienced engineers and project personnel, receiving guidance while developing practical skills in automation, controls programming, and process control. Responsibilities Assist with the design, programming, testing, and implementation of industrial automation and control systems. Support projects involving PLCs, DCS platforms, HMIs, operator interfaces, SCADA systems, and related control technologies. Work under the guidance of experienced automation engineers to complete assigned programming and engineering tasks. Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, input/output verification, startup, and commissioning activities. Assist with diagnosing and correcting issues involving PLC, HMI, DCS, and other control-system applications. Develop familiarity with online control-system programming, system uploads/downloads, and other commissioning procedures under appropriate supervision. Support field activities at customer facilities, including equipment inspections, system testing, startup, and commissioning. Participate in customer meetings and assist with technical communication during field assignments. Complete assigned project work within established schedules, budgets, technical requirements, and project scope. Assist with automation projects for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. Prepare technical documentation, reports, system information, and other project-related materials. Continue developing knowledge of automation technologies, programming methods, engineering practices, and industry standards. Travel periodically to customer and project locations as required, generally in the range of 5-10%, depending on project schedules and field requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or another related technical discipline preferred. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; previous automation or controls experience is beneficial but not required. Basic familiarity with industrial automation, process controls, or programmable control systems. Interest in learning multiple automation platforms and programming technologies. Ability to follow technical direction and work effectively with experienced engineering professionals. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and other project stakeholders. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Comfortable working in both an office setting and industrial/jobsite environments. Willingness to travel periodically for project-related field activities.
