Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Automation Engineer II who will provide support for various manufacturing, quality, and analytical testing systems. These include industrial control systems, lab equipment, analytical instruments, as well as site and enterprise systems used for managing operations, quality, and process development. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting complex equipment and automation issues to improve manufacturing performance (e.g., yield improvements) and ensuring automation systems are maintained in compliance with cGMP regulations. This role will also support critical projects involving the deployment of new process and IT capabilities. For various project assignments and initiatives, the Automation Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to help maintain operational requirements. Primary Responsibilities Understands and supports all GxP environments Assists in evaluating automated and IT systems and executes strategies to optimize system quality and stability through expansion, replacement, or upgrades Uses technical expertise to ensure efficient operation of automated processing and IT systems Oversees installation and commissioning of new equipment Leads or supports investigations of automation anomalies and implements preventive actions Participates in and helps develop training programs for automated systems Provides on-floor manufacturing support as needed Identifies and implements process and equipment improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency Maintains technical and quality documentation Provides client services support for business area applications Education, Experience & Qualifications B.S., B.A., or M.S. in Information Technology, Science, Engineering, or related field Experience in an Automation role supporting GMP manufacturing Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required
