Field Operations Engineer • 5G AI-RAN TheAgilePartners LLC Dallas, TX Job Details Full-time $65 - $70 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Network troubleshooting Cloud infrastructure Software deployment Engineering Confidential Clearance 5G Key Performance Indicators Bachelor's degree Containerization Telecommunication GNS3 Linux Technical troubleshooting support Linux administration Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Field Operations Engineer to support deployment, operationalization, testing, and troubleshooting of next-generation 5G AI-RAN platforms built on Open RAN and cloud-native infrastructure. This role will serve as the primary technical lead during customer deployments and acceptance activities, ensuring successful integration of Kubernetes-based edge infrastructure, 5G RAN network functions, and AI-driven telecom platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with 5G RAN deployments, Kubernetes environments, RF troubleshooting, and customer-facing field operations. This is a mid-to-senior level position requiring strong problem-solving skills, deployment ownership, and the ability to work across telecom, cloud, and edge compute domains. Job Description Deployment & Integration Deploy and configure 5G AI-RAN infrastructure at customer sites and lab environments. Bring up Kubernetes clusters, network functions, edge compute infrastructure, and RAN components. Support end-to-end integration of
CU/DU/RU
components with the 5G Core. Configure networking, transport, timing, observability, and operational tooling. Operationalization Customize deployments based on customer network topology and operational requirements. Validate deployment functionality and production readiness. Create operational runbooks and deployment documentation. Acceptance Testing Execute customer acceptance test plans including: KPI validation Performance benchmarking Failure scenario testing End-to-end network validation Document test results and support issue remediation activities. Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve issues across: Kubernetes infrastructure 5G RAN protocols RF performance Fronthaul/backhaul transport Timing and synchronization Perform protocol analysis and network troubleshooting. Escalate platform-level issues to engineering teams when required. Customer Engagement Serve as the primary technical point of contact during deployment and operational phases. Communicate effectively with customer engineering, operations, and program leadership teams. Provide technical updates, deployment status, and issue resolution tracking. Required Qualifications US Citizenship Required (USC Only) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field preferred.Hands-on experience with:
5G RAN deployments and operations gNB bring-up and interface verification Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting RF troubleshooting and KPI analysis Network performance diagnostics Strong understanding of:CU/DU/RU
architecture 5G Core integration Open RAN concepts Cloud-native telecom infrastructure Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Helm, containerized network functions, observability tooling, and edge infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot across RF, transport, and cloud-native infrastructure layers. Preferred Qualifications O-RAN architecture experience GPU platform or AI infrastructure exposure Massive MIMO and beam management experience CBRS or spectrum management familiarity Experience with drive test tools such as QXDM, QCAT, XCAL, or equivalent Python or Bash scripting knowledge Prior defense, industrial, or public safety deployment experience Active or previous security clearance is a plus Work Model + TravelWork Model Remote-first field engineering modelApproximately:
