Job Description

Junior Network Engineer North Wales / Montgomeryville, PA (Hybrid) $20-$23/hr W2 | Long-Term Contract, Potential for Conversion Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support a leading healthcare organization in the Greater Philadelphia area. This position is ideal for an early-career networking professional looking to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure projects across multiple healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with senior network engineers on network builds, upgrades, refresh initiatives, and day-to-day project activities. This role requires a strong networking foundation, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform hands-on installation and deployment work in data center and healthcare environments. Responsibilities Support enterprise network deployment, upgrade, and refresh projects across multiple healthcare locations Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and "rack and stack" activities for network hardware Assist with deployment and maintenance of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and voice network infrastructure Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, and infrastructure issues Support network equipment installations including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices Work with senior engineers to implement network changes and project deliverables Assist with network documentation, project tracking, and audit requirements Participate in network testing, validation, and post-installation support activities Follow organizational standards, policies, and project methodologies Provide on-site support for infrastructure initiatives and technology rollouts Required Qualifications 1-3 years of Network Engineering, Network Support, Infrastructure Support, or related IT experience Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and TCP/IP concepts Experience working with network switches, routers, and firewalls Knowledge of routing and switching concepts Familiarity with dynamic routing protocols including: BGP (required) OSPF (required) EIGRP (preferred) Experience with network troubleshooting and hardware installations Ability to read and understand network diagrams and documentation Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications CCNA certification or active pursuit of CCNA Experience supporting Cisco, Extreme Networks, or similar enterprise networking environments Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls Experience with wireless networking technologies Experience supporting infrastructure projects or technology deployments Healthcare IT experience is a plus Technical Skills Switching and Routing VLANs
