Summary:

Seeking a creative and experienced Network Engineer to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment, supporting the hardware layer of a network management platform. This position will primarily provide network help desk support to our client sites. This individual will work closely with firewalls, network switches, access points, and other infrastructure devices. This position works with other engineers and leadership to provide an exceptional customer experience, efficiently responding, resolving, and escalating network events as they occur. This individual will report directly to the Network Operations Manager.



This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday with varied hours.



Key duties:


Provide network support via helpdesk tickets and phone calls.



Interact with third parties, including low voltage vendors and internet circuit providers, in pursuit of issue resolution.



Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.



Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives.



Be part of a regular after hours on-call rotation.



Respond to network incidents and outages promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.



Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.



Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineeringCollaborate with software engineering team on our custom network automation software, assisting with infrastructure hardware compatibility and configurations

Key Qualifications:

Highly organized, detail-oriented, creative self-starterBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.



Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, AAA, Radius etc.).Experience with network hardware and software including Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Watchguard etc.



Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.



Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.



Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.



Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.



Prior experience in a weekend work environment is preferred.



Industry certifications a plus, including CCNA, CCNP, CMNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.
