Job Description

CoreCivic is currently seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer I . Come join a team that is dedicated to making an impact for the people and communities we serve. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite in Brentwood, TN. The Network Infrastructure Engineer I maintains and optimizes the organization's network infrastructure. Works closely with level II and III engineers to ensure the integrity, efficiency and security of network systems, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements. Assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points. Monitors network performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure optimal connectivity and minimal downtime. Performs routine network configuration and updates in accordance with company policies, industry best practices and NIST standards. Ensures all network hardware and software components are updated and maintained regularly, following
NIST 800-53
guidelines for System and Information Integrity (SI) and System Maintenance (MA). Collaborates with level II and III engineers and IT teams to support network projects and initiatives. Maintains detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures and issue resolutions. Manages and works network ticket queue and escalates to level II and III engineers. Domestic U.S. travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field is required. 2+ years of related experience is required. Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. Must have a basic understanding of networking principles and technologies (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, VPN and VLANS). CCNA or CompTIA certification is preferred. Experience working with CISCO, Meraki and /or HP network hardware and software is preferred. Strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a team is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
