  • Full-time About Us Cypress Systems is a long-established Reno-area IT services company supporting local businesses, including medical offices, law offices, and other professional organizations.
Most of our clients are small business environments with approximately 10-25 users. We are a small team looking for a reliable, hands-on IT technician/engineer who enjoys working directly with clients and solving real-world technology problems. This is a mix of onsite and remote support for established local customers. What You'll Do You will help support and maintain client networks, workstations, servers, cloud services, and business technology.
Typical responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting Windows desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and general user issues Supporting Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and user accounts Installing and supporting Dell desktops, laptops, servers, and related hardware Supporting SonicWall firewalls, EdgeRouter devices, UniFi switches, and UniFi wireless networks Troubleshooting internet, VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and basic network issues Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, file shares, permissions, and backups Setting up new users, workstations, email accounts, and office equipment Performing onsite visits for clients in the Reno/Sparks area Working with software vendors for medical, legal, and small-business applications Documenting client environments, completed work, and recommended follow-ups Helping maintain secure, reliable, and organized client IT systems What We're Looking For The right person for this role is dependable, practical, and comfortable working with small-business clients. You should be able to troubleshoot independently, communicate clearly with non-technical users, and know when to ask for help or escalate an issue.
Required experience:
3+ years of hands-on IT support, systems administration, network administration, or MSP experience Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting skills Experience with Microsoft 365 administration Basic to intermediate networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, Wi-Fi, switches, and routing Experience supporting small business users in person and remotely Ability to communicate professionally with business owners, office managers, and staff Reliable transportation for local onsite client visits Strong follow-through and documentation habits Preferred experience: MSP or outsourced IT support experience SonicWall firewall experience EdgeRouter experience UniFi switch and wireless experience Dell desktop, laptop, server, or reseller/deployment experience Windows Server and Active Directory experience Backup systems, endpoint protection, remote support tools, and ticketing systems Experience supporting medical or legal offices VoIP phone system experience
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$65,000
  • 75,000 per year , depending on experience Health insurance available after successful completion of probationary period 2 weeks paid vacation Paid holidays Full-time position with a stable local company Small team environment Mix of onsite and remote work Schedule This is a full-time Monday through Friday position.
Occasional after-hours work may be required for urgent issues, maintenance windows, or scheduled client projects. About the Role This is a good fit for someone who likes variety and enjoys supporting small business environments. One day may involve a SonicWall VPN issue, the next may be a Microsoft 365 problem, a Dell workstation setup, a UniFi Wi-Fi issue, or helping a medical or legal office get back up and running.
