Job Description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA) is searching for a Senior Automation Engineer for a contract opportunity with one of our premier clients in Boston, MA. This is a remote position working east coast hours. Senior Automation Engineer to join the Jetsons squad
  • the intelligent automation engine within the Automation & Productivity group.
This role sits at the intersection of RPA delivery, AI integration strategy, and production engineering. You will be expected to architect, build, and own automation solutions from the ground up, determine when and whether AI is the right tool, and ensure the stability of a live production automation environment that directly supports investment operations.
Responsibilities :
Analyze, design, develop, and deploy end-to-end automation solutions with a strong emphasis on business value, cost savings, and operational efficiency across the investment workflows. Serve as the primary technical owner for production automation stability
  • proactively monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents to maintain zero-defect delivery posture across all live bots. Evaluate automation requests and emerging AI capabilities (including LLM agents and agentic frameworks) to determine the optimal solution approach
  • knowing when RPA, AI, or a hybrid model is the right fit. Build and maintain React-based front-end interfaces that surface automation outputs, operational dashboards, and AI-powered workflow tools for business users and stakeholders. Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI) and AI-native patterns
  • including RAG pipelines, function calling, and streaming interfaces
  • into automation and operational tooling where applicable.
Collaborate with the Product Owner during PI planning and sprint ceremonies to translate business requirements into well-scoped, deliverable automation epics and user stories. Partner with business units to gather requirements, assess automation opportunities, and design workflows that meet each team's operational and regulatory needs. Document automation architecture, design decisions, and process flows using Arc42 or equivalent frameworks to ensure maintainability and knowledge continuity. Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers on the squad, establishing code quality standards, review practices, and AI integration patterns. Support the evaluation and adoption of emerging automation and AI tooling
  • including UiPath Autopilot, Agentic workflow frameworks, and Snowflake-integrated data pipelines.
Act as a liaison and represent automation capabilities and interests when interacting and collaborating with Intelligent Automation teams across the enterprise.
Requirements :
Technical skills stack: UiPath, React, TypeScript, LLM, AI APIs, REST APIs, Github Actions / CI-CD, Jira UiPath Development
  • Production-level RPA design and delivery; UiPath certifications preferred (UiARD or equivalent) React / Frontend Engineering

  • Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Anthropic APIs; RAG pipelines, function calling, streaming UX patterns Agile / SAFe Delivery
  • Active participation in PI planning, sprint ceremonies, and backlog refinement; Jira proficiency Sound architectural judgment. You understand both RPA and AI deeply enough to make principled decisions about when each is the right tool
  • and when neither is. You can push back with data and propose alternatives. Production ownership mentality. You don't consider a bot "done " at deployment. You monitor it, catch failures before users do, and drive long-term stability as seriously as new delivery. Business-first automation thinking. You measure success in hours saved, error rates eliminated, and cost avoided
  • not lines of code written. You partner with business stakeholders to size and validate impact. AI-native engineering curiosity. You're actively exploring where LLM agents, RAG, and agentic frameworks fit into automation pipelines
  • and you're excited to help get there responsibly. Clear, cross-functional communication. You can translate technical tradeoffs into plain language for business stakeholders, compliance teams, and leadership
  • and write documentation that outlasts your tenure.
