About the role As a Senior
SDET - API
& Integration Testing , you will make an impact by designing and delivering comprehensive testing solutions for APIs, event-driven integrations, and distributed applications. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and DevOps teams to improve product quality, test coverage, and release reliability. In this role, you will Design and execute functional, API integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across multiple applications and platforms. Validate REST and Graph-based APIs, including request and response data, error handling, system integrations, and end-to-end business workflows. Test event-driven integrations using Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies and verify message flow, data integrity, and system behavior. Create and maintain reusable automated test frameworks, test scripts, test data strategies, and quality engineering best practices. Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps to support continuous testing. Analyze test results, identify and document defects, and collaborate with development teams to support timely resolution. Participate in requirement reviews, test planning, risk assessments, and test coverage analysis. Monitor automation coverage and quality metrics while identifying opportunities to improve testing efficiency and delivery outcomes. Work model We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. What you need to have to be considered At least 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with strong experience in API and integration testing . Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, Graph-based APIs , or GraphQL services , including validation of requests, responses, status codes, data, and error handling. Experience testing Kafka or another event-streaming platform, including message validation and end-to-end event flow testing. Experience designing and executing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios. Hands-on experience with test case design, test execution, defect identification, and test result analysis. Experience developing or maintaining reusable test automation frameworks and automated test suites. Understanding of CI/CD processes and the integration of automated tests into software delivery pipelines. Ability to collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Quality Engineering teams, and DevOps teams. These will help you stand out Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based application testing. Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD technologies. Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments. Exposure to application performance or API performance testing. Salary and Other Compensation The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans. Benefits
