Senior Network Engineer Location Frederick, MD (Hybrid) Compensation $127,500 - $170,000 Benefits PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Sick Leave (as required by law) Overview Seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, architecture, modernization, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This individual will serve as the network subject matter expert, driving network strategy, scalability, security, automation, and cloud networking initiatives that support business growth and digital transformation. Responsibilities Define and maintain enterprise network standards, reference architectures, and engineering best practices. Design scalable, secure, and high-performing network solutions for enterprise and cloud environments.
Lead network modernization initiatives including:
Zero Trust Architecture SD-WAN Cloud-native networking Legacy infrastructure migration and decommissioning Design and support hybrid cloud networking, including Azure hub-and-spoke architectures, routing, and segmentation. Drive network automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and policy-based networking. Introduce AIOps and telemetry-driven monitoring to improve reliability and proactive issue resolution. Partner with Cybersecurity, Application Development, Infrastructure, Data, and Product teams to deliver secure and performant solutions. Provide technical leadership and oversight to managed service providers and network operations teams. Serve as Tier 3 escalation support for complex network incidents and root-cause analysis. Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, diagrams, and operational runbooks. Manage relationships with network vendors, carriers, and service providers. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across the network team. Required Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred certifications:
Cisco CCNP Cisco CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure, Data Center, or Security) Experience 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
