OunceIT.com OunceIT and the water drop logo are trademarks of OunceIT, LLC Senior Network Engineer OunceIT, July 2026 OunceIT is seeking an experienced, talented and motivated Senior Network Engineer to support our growing team supporting non-profits, mission based organizations and independent schools in MA. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining resilient and secure network infrastructure. Position Summary You will build and maintain high-level technical advisory partnerships with core clients, delivering technology benchmarks and industry-standard practices under the guidance of our leadership team. You are tasked with designing and deploying robust network configurations for a variety of environments, including small offices and large, multi-building and multi-site campuses, and you will be responsible for the oversight and management—or collaborative co-management—of significant technical infrastructure projects. Primary Responsibilities Design, deploy and maintain robust network infrastructure to support our clients' environments. Configure and optimize network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity. Design and lead complex network engineering projects including system upgrades, migrations and new deployments. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot latency and bandwidth issues and implement changes to improve stability and throughput. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including detailed network diagrams, system engineering plans and technical standards. Ensure the network design complies with all security policies, supports scalability and aligns with clients' operational, budget and mission requirements. Mentor and guide less experienced network engineers providing technical oversight and sharing knowledge. We cannot pay for relocation costs. This position is predominantly an in person/on-site position while there will be some flexibility to work from home based on how well work is organized. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking Engineering, Electrical Engineering ,Information Systems or a related technical discipline with 8 years of relevant experience ideally in a consulting or MSP environment. Proven experience in engineering and sustaining network infrastructure and hands-on experience with routing and switching protocols and network security. Experience with configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN solutions from vendors like Cisco and HP/Aruba. Experienced in technical change management practices to reduce risk, prevent avoidable outages, and ensure changes to critical systems are executed in a controlled, well-documented way. Strong customer service skills, with both in-person and remote situations Demonstrable project/process management background and experience in a technical environment Strong time-management, organization, leadership and administrative skills, and ability to manage competing priorities Ability to balance working autonomously while also working as a member of a larger team
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced networking qualifications such as Cisco CCNP or CCIE. Administration of current Microsoft Windows Server environments including: Active Directory, Exchange, file services, print services, group policy, etc. SQL experience is a plus, but not required.
