ESI | IAM Analyst - User Access Reviews Contract duration: Three months Work arrangement: Remote or on-site
Engagement:
1099 or corp-to-corp Our client is seeking a detail-oriented IAM Analyst to support its Identity and Access Management team through a three-month contract focused on user-access reviews. This role helps ensure employees have the appropriate access for their responsibilities, access decisions are documented, and unnecessary access is removed. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with access certifications, strong organizational skills, and the confidence to follow up with managers and application owners to move reviews through completion. What you'll do Coordinate recurring user-access reviews across assigned applications and systems, tracking deadlines, reviewer responses, and outstanding actions. Work with system analysts and application owners to obtain user and entitlement lists, validate review information, and distribute it to the appropriate managers. Collect and document decisions to retain, modify, or remove access, ensuring approvals are complete and supported. Follow up on missing responses, clarify incomplete decisions, and escalate overdue reviews or unresolved concerns. Coordinate access changes and removals with the responsible teams, track remediation through completion, and retain supporting evidence. Maintain organized review records, including access listings, approvals, exceptions, remediation status, and completion documentation. Prepare clear status reports and completed review summaries for IAM leadership's approval and sign-off. Review access exception reports and help investigate discrepancies or potentially inappropriate permissions. Provide backup support for user onboarding, account changes, access removal, and access-related troubleshooting. Support improvements to review procedures, documentation, and related IAM workflows. What you'll bring Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in IAM, access administration, IT security operations, or a closely related field. Direct experience supporting user-access reviews or access certification campaigns. An understanding of least privilege, role-based access, separation of duties, and user lifecycle management. The ability to review access data, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate records across multiple applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and familiarity with enterprise access management and ticketing tools. Proficiency with Excel for organizing, comparing, filtering, and tracking access-review data. Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain review requirements and follow up professionally with busy stakeholders. The ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion. Preferred experience SailPoint IdentityIQ or a comparable identity governance platform. ServiceNow or a similar ticketing system. Access governance or audit support within financial services or another regulated environment. Familiarity with access controls supporting SOX, GLBA, or PCI requirements. A degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. What success looks like You will be expected to get up to speed quickly on established review procedures and take ownership of assigned reviews. Successful performance means reviews progress against agreed deadlines, approval records are complete, access changes are tracked to resolution, and leadership receives accurate reporting on completion status, outstanding risks, and items requiring escalation. By the end of the engagement, assigned reviews should be completed to the agreed schedule, with organized supporting evidence and a clear handoff of any remaining actions.
