JOB SUMMARY
The Texas Rangers are seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team! This role will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and documenting our Aruba-based network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
Maintain and support the current Aruba network infrastructure, including wireless controllers, switching, and dynamic segmentation. Administer Aruba ClearPass for network access control and policy enforcement Administer Ruckus wireless networks. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance across multiple locations (stadiums, offices, remote sites). Configure and manage routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, etc.). Participate in network upgrades, expansions, and incident response. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field, and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise-level IT infrastructure. Hands-on experience with Aruba networking technologies (ClearPass, wireless controllers, wired controllers switching, dynamic segmentation). Strong understanding of routing and switching fundamentals (OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP). Proven troubleshooting skills in complex, multi-site environments. Proficiency in Network architecture (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, large venue environments. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel both in writing and verbally. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills. Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls or similar next-generation firewalls. Ability to design and document network architecture clearly. Aruba certifications (e.g., ACSA, ACSP, ACMP) or equivalent industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP). Strong understanding of networking structures, theories, principles, and practices.
