Preferred Education/Training/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and two plus (2) years of professional network and system Administrator level. Minimum Knowledge & Skills Knowledge (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:
General switching and routing practices; Systems analysis principles; Information technology security principles; End-user technical training principles and procedures; Wireless technologies; Windows server 2016 and above; Firewall and access lists. Skills (position requirements at entry): Skill in: Providing direction for systems configuration; Troubleshooting technological problems; Evaluating new products and technologies; Prioritizing work and performing multiple tasks; Communicating complex IT data and concepts in standard business terminology; Preferred Knowledge & Skills Knowledge (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:
Enterprise level switching and routing platforms Checkpoint firewall security policies; Network Access control (NAC); Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity; Office 365 security; Data loss prevention (DLP); Industry recognized security standards. Skills (position requirements at entry): Skill in: Ability to work both independently and with team; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction. Licensing/Certification Requirements One or a combination of the following certifying bodies: Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, Checkpoint, EC-Council, ISACA, (ISC)2. Job Duties Provides support of a multi-user network including hardware and software tools as well as installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of LAN and WAN switches, wireless access points and controllers, Core Switches, Firewalls, VPNs, and VoIP telephony equipment at all College sites. Monitors network security systems and provides performance statistics and reports. Utilizes security and threat intelligence systems to ensure business continuity. Recommends, develops, implements, documents, monitors and assesses network systems and security standards. Ensures quality assurance processes are being followed, including service levels as outlined in the ITS Service Level Agreement and change control procedures. Ensures network connectivity for all devices. Upgrades, installs, and troubleshoots networks, networking hardware devices, and software. Develops and documents standards for network devices. Must be able to work outside business hours. Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be able to work on ladders. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
