Job Description Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Mandatory Skills:

Ability to install, configure, security harden, maintain, back-up, patch operating systems (Windows and RHEL) Ability to install, configure, upgrade, & maintain network related devices to include but not limited to switches, routers, & firewalls. Excellent problem solving skills, advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in a team environment, communicating and coordinating work among other system administrators, software developers, systems engineering teams, mission engineering, management and customers. Must be able to manage multiple projects with minimal guidance/supervision and complete projects according to schedule.
