Job Description
GovCIO is currently hiring for an Network Engineer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and will be a full time onsite position. Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support the organization's network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of wired and wireless networks across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and network optimization, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in fast‑paced environments Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network environments Configure and support routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs Manage firewalls, VPN solutions, and network security technologies Monitor network performance and availability; perform proactive capacity planning and optimization Troubleshoot complex network issues and lead root-cause analysis Implement network upgrades, patches, and configuration changes Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to support cross-functional initiatives Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and standards Support network automation, scripting, and orchestration efforts where applicable Qualifications HIgh School diploma and 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
