This role focuses on integration of security best practices into IT operations to strengthen system reliability, business continuity and protection of organizational assets. The engineer partners closely with IT infrastructure, network operations, and business stakeholders to align security controls with operational requirements, service support, and performance metrics. This role emphasizes maintaining uptime, optimizing system performance and embedded security into day-to-day IT operations. Communicates HRSD's Mission, Vision and Values; provides long-term vision, strategic planning and implementation of innovative programs to continually improve HRSD performance. Detailed Description Job Requirements Education Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Network Engineering Education equivalency equals two years of directly related professional experience for every year of education not completed. The stated experience is in addition to any experience used to meet the education equivalency. Experience Required Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems, network, and infrastructure engineering Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining enterprise network environments Hands-on experience with routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and network monitoring tools Desired Familiarity with utility-specific enterprise applications including; SCADA, GIS, CIS, CMMS and other relevant automation technologies Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations Infrastructure automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Ansible, Powershell) Licenses and Certifications Requirements Two of the following certifications (CCNA Network or CCNA Security, or CompTIA Security+) must be obtained within the first six months of employment Valid driver's license from state of residence
