Job Description
DescriptionAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help. The Data Center Availability team works with the hundreds of AWS data centers around the globe to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost physical security, availability, capacity, and scaling results for our customers. Our aim is to standardize operations globally by delivering tools, policy, processes and procedures to our internal teams. The Availability tech team is seeking a System Engineer to design, develop, and implement software tools that streamline operations by automating tedious manual processes. Key job responsibilities As a System Engineer, you will: Design software tools using advanced automation methods such as Agentic AI Work with business stakeholders to understand the opportunities to automate the manual work and streamline the process Develop and maintain software pipelines using best practices for smooth production code release. Suggest and implement best practices for coding, design and operational excellence. Mentor engineers and develop themBasic Qualifications
- 4+ years of building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments experience
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services
- Experience maintaining the resilience and reliability of services by troubleshooting deployment failures, creating infrastructure as code, creating resources (alarms, metrics, IAM role credentials), infrastructure provisioning and patching hostsPreferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
- Experience working in 24/7 production environment
