00 per year The City of Tolleson is seeking a skilled Information Technology Systems Network Administrator to support and secure the City's technology infrastructure. The Systems Network Administrator role emphasizes Cisco networking and enterprise firewall administration, requiring independent configuration, management, and troubleshooting of complex technology environments. Responsibilities include administering Cisco networks and firewalls, servers, storage, Hyper-V/VMware virtualization, INTRA technologies, and Microsoft cloud platform s , including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, and Active Directory. The position also supports cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery, system upgrades, monitoring, and advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting. Qualifications Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, or a related field, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise networks, firewalls, servers, storage, virtualization, and Microsoft cloud technologies. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, with directly related experience substituting for required education.

Preferred:

CCNA certification or equivalent experience; additional Cisco, Microsoft, cloud, firewall, virtualization, storage, or cybersecurity certifications; experience with multiple enterprise firewall platforms; and local government IT experience.

Knowledge of:
  • INTRA platforms, technologies, configurations, and integrations.
  • Cisco enterprise networking, including routers, switches, wireless systems, Cisco
IOS, LAN/WAN/VLAN

environments, routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation.

  • Enterprise firewall platforms and security protocols, including ACLs, NAT/PAT, VPNs, intrusion prevention, logging, packet inspection, and traffic analysis.
  • Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, enterprise data storage, backups, recovery, and related applications.
  • Hyper-V and VMware virtualization technologies and environments.
  • Microsoft cloud technologies, including Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, and Azure.
  • Cybersecurity, system hardening, vulnerability and patch management, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Technical documentation, troubleshooting practices, project management, and current technology industry standards.
Skills in:
  • Independently configuring, administering, securing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco networks, enterprise firewalls, servers, storage, virtual environments, and Microsoft cloud platforms.
  • Analyzing firewall rules, logs, packet captures, traffic flows, and system configurations to identify security risks and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Planning and implementing system upgrades, migrations, installations, and configuration changes.
  • Evaluating technical and business requirements and recommending secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Preparing technical documentation, diagrams, procedures, reports, and training materials.
  • Communicating technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exercising independent judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, discretion, and excellent customer service.

Employment Requirements Valid Arizona driver's license required. Must be able to independently administer and troubleshoot enterprise networks, firewalls, servers, storage, virtual environments, and Microsoft cloud services, and be available for on-call and after-hours work as needed. This safety-sensitive position requires successful completion of a background investigation, fingerprinting, pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, and a post-offer physical assessment. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office, server-room, data-center, and technology-equipment environment. Duties may require stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and performing repetitive motions. The position must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to waist height when installing, replacing, or relocating network, server, storage, and related technology equipment. The position enters, exits, and operates City vehicles and may travel between City facilities. Following appropriate safety, lifting, electrical, and equipment-handling practices substantially controls workplace risks. Full Salary Range for
