  •  •Systems Administrator - VMware & Storage Infrastructure•This role is primarily responsible for the administration and support of a VMware virtualization environment with Windows, Linux and Appliance VMs, with working knowledge of enterprise storage systems (NAS/SAN) to support day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is proactive and self-sufficient, taking ownership of issues end-to-end and operating with minimal oversight, while staying organized, responsive, and collaborative with the rest of the team. Technical skill matters, but so does how you work with others: we're looking for someone curious who genuinely enjoys collaborating and learning alongside the team.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Administer VMware vSphere environments: ESXi host management, vCenter, clustering, HA/DRS configuration, and VM lifecycle (provisioning through decommissioning).

+ Apply working knowledge of enterprise storage (NAS and SAN), including basic provisioning, permissions, and protocol-level troubleshooting (NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI), coordinating with the storage owner/team as needed.

+ Own backup operations using Veeam (job configuration, monitoring, retention, restore testing) and support broader disaster recovery processes.

+ Troubleshoot issues across the hypervisor, VM, and storage layers, performing root-cause analysis (RCA) on recurring or major incidents.

+ Manage patch cycles and version upgrades for VMware, backup, and OS environments, including rollback planning where needed.

+ Perform hardware-level tasks as needed (installation, troubleshooting, component replacement) for servers and storage arrays.

+ Develop and maintain VM templates of Windows and Linux in different OS versions.

+ Use ServiceNow to manage incidents, requests, and changes, ensuring tickets stay accurate and up to date throughout their lifecycle.

+ Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and changes.

+ Identify opportunities for efficiency or automation and help implement them.

+ Provide occasional after-hours/on-call support as needed.

  • Requirements
  • + Bachelors and 3-5 years of systems administration experience, with meaningful time in VMware environments.

+ Working knowledge of storage systems (NAS/SAN); hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms is a strong plus.

+ Experience with Veeam (or similar backup platforms): configuring jobs, monitoring, and performing restores.

+ Experience working within an ITSM platform such as ServiceNow (incident/change/request management).

+ Comfortable in Windows and/or Linux server environments.

+ Basic scripting ability (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.

+ Practical experience with core networking fundamentals, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and basic routing/subnetting.

Target salary range:

$80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
