mail Tweet Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn Apply Now > Job Description Description SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator with a strong background in VMWare, Microsoft Server support, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. This role requires a candidate who is eager to learn new technologies rapidly and can apply their expertise to manage complex systems. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mission-critical systems and applications in a secure and scalable environment. This role will work on the development of a mission-critical application utilizing advanced technologies for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer. This position is ON-SITE located in San Diego, CA.
JOB DUTIES
Set up and configure container platforms, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to support scalable and secure application deployments. Manage containerized environments, including building and maintaining custom images, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing resource utilization. Implement security hardening measures to protect systems and applications against vulnerabilities. Configure and manage VMWare environments to support operational requirements. Establish and maintain robust equipment configurations as per mission-critical needs. Provide guidance for firewall configurations to enhance system security and connectivity. Perform backup and restoration of systems to ensure data preservation and business continuity. Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring minimal downtime and high reliability. Provide technical direction, training, and mentorship to less experienced team members. Interface regularly with management, customers, and cross-functional teams to align on system requirements and progress updates. Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience in systems administration or a related technical role; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start In-depth knowledge of Containers, VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, and Microsoft Server environments.
DESIRED SKILLS
Expertise in establishing and managing CI/CD pipeline integrations. Proven experience in implementing security hardening measures. Strong background in designing and supporting high-availability systems. Familiarity with military or DoD environments is highly desirable.
Target salary range:
$160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
