Experience with Linux Kernel Internals, Memory Management, C, Linux Kernel, Operating Systems, and Debugging/Troubleshooting.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Experience with Performance Analysis and Analytical Thinking. $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features and optimizations within the Linux kernel memory management subsystem for Prodkernel. Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for future memory architectures to enhance performance and reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across Google's fleet. Lead the efforts in areas such as memory tiering, Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) optimization, swap, memory overcommit, and the integration of new memory technologies. Collaborate with the open-source Linux kernel community, driving Google's requirements and contributions upstream.
