In this role, you'll work alongside senior engineers to maintain high‑availability systems, strengthen automation, and ensure secure, scalable operations across a 24/7 environment. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to deepen their technical foundation, gain exposure to enterprise‑grade environments, and grow into advanced engineering or architecture roles.

What Your Typical Day Will Be:
Monitor and maintain core IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network systems. Perform system patching, upgrades, and backups across Windows, Linux, and virtual environments. Support and troubleshoot VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, VDI pools). Manage cloud services (e.g., Azure) and assist in cloud migration and automation efforts. Automate recurring tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Maintain and document system configurations, procedures, and incident responses. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for technical issues, including Sev1 incident response. Assist with disaster recovery planning and execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments and infrastructure changes. Participate in a 24/7 operational environment. What You Bring to
The Table:
Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent military/corporate training. 1+ years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or technical support. Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking. Experience with VMware or VDI environments. Basic cloud computing knowledge (Azure preferred). Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Must meet all requirements to obtain a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) Preferred Experience (Not Required): Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Linux). Exposure to Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu) OS environments. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds). Familiarity with Jira & Confluence. Basic networking knowledge.
Certifications:
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, - CompTIA Linux+, VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA‑DCV), Microsoft 365 or Windows Desktop Administrator (MD‑102), Qualys. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform tasks requiring ladder climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
