We are a trusted partner of top industry leaders, including Microsoft, Dell, AllWorx, SonicWall, Axcient, Veeam, and ProofPoint. TAB also designs and supports its own custom line of Intel-based workstations. We are currently seeking a Server / Project Engineer to join our team of dedicated professionals who provide exceptional service and technical support to our clients. This role will require work at our office in East Hartford, CT and travel to client-sites within a 2 hour radius of central CT. ________________________________________ Position Overview As a Server/Project Engineer, you will be responsible for: Performing technical tasks including server, network, and IT infrastructure installations, as well as ongoing support. Playing an integral role in the security and overall functionality of environments providing guidance, and alignment with industry standards and best practices. Diagnosing, repairing, and servicing all components in a business computing environment, including VoIP technologies. Travel as needed, typically within a two-hour radius ________________________________________
Required Skills:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems (2025 and older) including virtual technology including Hyper-V and VMWare. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365's configurations including Email, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure as well as on-prem Exchange Server. Expertise with Server Roles and Features commonly found within organizations including Active Directory, IIS, GPO's and common networking services such as DNS, DHCP, etc. Expertise in all Microsoft PC Operating Systems. Troubleshooting of network infrastructure including Switches, advanced VLAN configurations, Wi-Fi and QOS and VoIP integrations. Advanced skillset with Security Appliances (Firewalls) and VPN configurations. Familiarity with security tools such as MDR, EDR, A/V, MFA, etc. _________________________________
Qualifications:
Previous experience in an equivalent position (5+ years minimum) Strong interpersonal communication skills to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to approach multiple challenges creatively and simultaneously while being keen to detail. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to document tasks thoroughly. An individual that excels in collaboration, teamwork and in sharing knowledge for the benefit of the team. Industry certifications including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Security+, A+, Network+, and SonicWall are preferred. Reliable vehicle for travel to client sites. The vehicle must be registered and insured, and candidate must have a valid driver's license . _________________________________
Physical Requirements:
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to sit and stand for a period of time. Vision to read printed materials and see a computer screen; and hearing and speech (English Language) to communicate in person and over the telephone. Additional Details:
