Construction Estimating & AI Systems Specialist (Heavy Civil)

Job Summary We are seeking a tech-driven professional to help improve and modernize our estimating and project workflows using AI, automation, and smart systems . This role combines heavy civil estimating, project support, and technology implementation across projects involving earthwork, underground utilities, and structures/bridges . You will play a key role in helping the company operate more efficiently by building better systems for estimating, budgeting, and project tracking. This is for someone who understands construction but is always asking: "How can we do this faster, better, and smarter?" Responsibilities Assist with estimating for: Earthwork and site development, Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm), Structural and bridge-related work Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and CAD drawings Build and improve systems for: Bid summaries and proposals, Cost tracking and budgets, Pay applications (pay requests), Project schedules and reporting. Use AI tools and automation to: Streamline estimating workflows, Reduce manual data entry, Improve accuracy and consistency Develop Excel-based or software-driven tools for estimating and reporting Organize and standardize project and estimating data Required Skills Strong comfort with technology, systems, and process improvement Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT or similar) in a practical way Strong Excel skills (formulas, data organization, analysis) Ability to read and interpret heavy civil plans and specifications Preferred Experience Experience in heavy civil construction estimating or project coordination Background in: Earthwork, Underground utilities, Structural or bridge construction Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, HCSS, Agtek, or similar tools Understanding of job costing, budgets, and pay applications What We're Looking For Someone who actively looks for ways to improve efficiency and automate work Detail-oriented and highly organized Comfortable working across estimating, budgeting, and operations Practical, hands-on mindset — not just theoretical How to Apply Submit resume and (if available): Examples of systems, tools, or workflows you've built Examples of how you've used AI or automation to improve your work Applicants who include an example of automation, AI use, or workflow improvement will be prioritized.

Pay:

$85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
