Full Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Server Administration:
Manage and maintain server infrastructure (Windows and Linux) including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative maintenance. Manage virtual server environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Implement and maintain data backup and recovery procedures.
Networking:
Manage and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Implement and maintain network security measures. Configure and maintain network monitoring tools.
VoIP Administration:
Manage and maintain VoIP phone systems (e.g., RingCentral, Avaya, 3CX). Troubleshoot VoIP related issues, including call quality, voice mail, and conferencing. Configure and manage VoIP features such as call routing, voicemail, and call recording. Integrate VoIP systems with other business applications.
Security:
Implement and maintain security policies and procedures. Monitor security logs and investigate security incidents. Manage user accounts and access permissions. Install and maintain security software (e.g., antivirus, anti-malware).
Cloud Computing:
Manage and maintain cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Migrate on-premises systems to the cloud. Optimize cloud resource utilization.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of all IT systems and procedures.
Helpdesk Ticket Support:
Provide technical support to end-users via helpdesk tickets. Diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.

Competencies:

Server Administration:
Windows Server (all versions) Linux Server Administration (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) Virtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Active Directory Networking:
TCP/IP Protocols Routing and Switching Firewall Administration VPN Technologies Network Monitoring Tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus)
VoIP Technologies:
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol) VoIP codecs (G.711, G.729, etc.) Experience with specific VoIP platforms (Cisco, Avaya, 3CX, etc.)
Cloud Computing:
AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud Migration Strategies Security:
Cybersecurity best practices Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) Vulnerability scanning and remediation Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Scripting:
PowerShell Bash/Shell scripting Python (desirable)

Problem-solving and Troubleshooting:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all system configurations and procedures.
