Job Description
The ideal individual not only has an in-depth knowledge of Information Technology, but needs to have the ability to communicate issues to management and be proactive in making recommendations and fixes. As well, this position has responsibility for analytical and research oriented duties relating to installation, configuration and upgrades of the I.T. systems to ensure that they are performed correctly and in a cost effective manner. Position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology Provide support and maintenance for corporate and store computer with the additional responsibility of network configuration and maintenance, and server troubleshooting Knowledge and experience with PDI Assist corporate and store employees with PC problems and requests Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of company PC's and other technological devices Responsible for the day to day maintenance of the network and server Perform complex installation, configuration and upgrade tasks Oversee the IT aspects of credit card processing Prepare progress reports, documentation and updates on status of problems Assist remote employees with PC problems and requests Assist Senior Management in ongoing assessment and upgrading of I.T. systems Research and evaluate hardware and software and make recommendation to improve performance Maintain a high level of knowledge on back-office and store level accounting package (PDI) Lead some troubleshooting and consulting with PDI support and or consultants Keep PCs current with all software upgrades and added functionality programs (operating system, accounting software, antivirus, etc.) Take initiative as a leader in specialized Information Technology projects and make recommendations for system or process improvement Direct/Assist with special projects as developed in the Information Technology department Keep up to date on new developments in Information Technology Knowledge of cabling protocols (Ethernet, serial) Basic knowledge of automated teller machines (MoneyTree ATM) Basic knowledge of point of sale equipment to include some troubleshooting (Ruby/Sapphire) Active Directory Administration Hosted Exchange Server knowledge Website design and development Prior experience in the oil & gas industry is essential. Equivalent related experience and/or training in equivalent areas; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of PC maintenance and commonly used PC operation systems also required.
