System Administrator

SUMMARY:

The System Administrator's role is to manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. Our Systems Administrator supports the West Music Mission of Encouraging people of all ages and abilities to: Play now. Play for Life. by supporting the systems our associates use to interact with customers. The ability to present technical ideas in user friendly language to a bunch of musicians is a key component of this role! Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

Server Administration:

Configuration of servers on various platforms Maintain physical and virtual infrastructure Monitor server performance and perform server software and hardware upgrades Conduct research on and recommend emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of software procurement and development efforts to maintain competitive edge

Security Administration:

Maintain network and server security through configuration best practices Design, implement and test disaster recovery plan Design, implement and mange backup and recovery systems Maintain compliance with relevant regulations (PCI, HIPAA, etc.)

Network Administration:

Monitor network performance and perform network hardware upgrades Responsible for administration of user accounts and access to network resources
