Job Description

IT Service Technician at TEKsystems in Meridian, Idaho, United States Job Description Description Current team of 9 who are working through and completing tickets on a daily basis. This new individual will be assisting with the back logged tickets in addition to taking on daily tickets to alleviate the number of tickets received by each technician. Individuals must be confident in both remote and in-person troubleshooting and have the ability to prioritize these service requests.
Purpose:
clear backlog, handle volume surge
Key Responsibilities:
Provide front-line IT support for retail store systems Support and troubleshoot: Point-of-Sale (POS) registers Self-checkout systems Handheld scanners In-lane scanners Tag machines and tag printers (back-of-store) Assist with basic network troubleshooting and restoration Handle and resolve high-volume service desk tickets Prioritize and triage issues that impact store operations and transactions Communicate clearly with stores and internal teams Adapt quickly to new systems, tools, and processes
Required Skills & Experience:
Basic IT service desk or technical support experience Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable supporting systems that handle financial transactions Computer-literate with solid troubleshooting fundamentals Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic, sometimes chaotic environment Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience:
Retail IT or POS support experience Storefront technology environments (e.g., retail, QSR, hospitality) Familiarity with working in small teams handling broad responsibilities
Service Desk Overview:
  • Function supports retail/store IT, not corporate
  • Supports:
    ? POS systems (registers, self-checkout) ? Handheld scanners, tag printers, backroom machines ? Basic network troubleshooting/restoration Team is small but handles high volume and frequent change Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Meridian, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00
  • $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
