Systems Administrator

The Village of Chicago Ridge System Administrator will be in charge of and coordinate all computer, server, and telephone operations; recommend the proper equipment to meet the Village's needs; install and maintain back-ups, integrity and security of all computer, server, and telephone operations. This position requires a strong desire to learn new skills and technologies and help develop a system work plan and successful IT system program. The System Administrator will supervise the Village's Department's Telephone, all, networked and non-networked Computer Systems, the Active Directory, software, hardware and electronic media storage devices. Is responsible for long-term System, user support and computer network strategic planning and development for the Village of Chicago Ridge and its various Departments; maintains inventory on information related technology equipment and software; and takes bids and purchases computer hardware, software, and related data processing supplies while performing routine and scheduled maintenance. The System Administrator will seek to remain current concerning trends and developments in computer hardware, software and cybersecurity; perform research and provide information and assistance as assigned; assists in system planning. The position will perform technical troubleshooting to resolve computer and phone equipment and software problems. Manage and administer the backup system for the network servers. Restores file and databases, as required. The position will consult with Department Heads to coordinate system activities and to identify needs; assists with the management of major projects including software and hardware improvements, development of complex systems, and replacement of existing systems relating to voice, video and data. The position will attend Department training functions and provide Department training as needed on IT system related procedures, processes and equipment. Applicants should have good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and willingness to work as a team as well as being a self-starter. Experience working with the below a plus: CivicsPlus, Laserfiche, MSI Harris, Paycom, DACRA, Meracki, Square-RMS, Motorola BWC, Avigilon Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Barracuda Graduation from an accredited High School or GED program required, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred. $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
