Senior Linux Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is looking for a Senior Linux Engineer that is responsible for engineering, securing, and operating enterprise‑grade compute platforms across VMware, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), and Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes environments. This role requires deep expertise in Linux and Windows Server administration, hypervisor engineering, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management of server hardware. The engineer will lead major platform initiatives, drive POCs (including OpenShift), modernize virtualization stacks, and provide technical leadership to a growing infrastructure team. This individual must be capable of solving complex OS‑level issues across both Linux and Windows, guiding architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. • 7+ years of systems engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Expert Linux engineering (RHEL preferred) and strong Windows Server troubleshooting. (Windows OS troubleshooting and deployment experience.)
• Deep virtualization experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter and Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI).
• Strong experience with Kubernetes; OpenShift experience is a strong plus.
• Ability to help with POCs, modernization efforts, and cross‑team technical initiatives.
• Strong vulnerability management and OS‑level problem‑solving across Linux and Windows.
• Full server lifecycle management including hardware repair and firmware management.
• Experience with hypervisors, DR replication platforms (Zerto or similar), and hybrid cloud.
• Strong automation skills (Ansible preferred; PowerShell/Terraform a plus).
• Ability to troubleshoot across compute, storage, and network layers.
• Strong communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills.

PKI Certification experience
