Job Description

Job Summary Systems Administrator (Windows & Linux Environments) Purdue University / West Lafayette Indiana Join a collaborative, on-site team where your expertise helps power reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure. This role is ideal for a systems professional who enjoys both hands-on technical work and contributing to the bigger picture of enterprise IT environments. What You'll Do Develop, install, configure, test, and maintain enterprise-level Windows and Linux systems Monitor server performance and health while maintaining clear, up-to-date documentation Support day-to-day operations and long-term reliability of core infrastructure systems Collaborate with teammates to improve processes, architecture, and system design Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the environment Participate in Data Center Operations, including critical facility infrastructure Contribute to an on-call rotation to ensure system availability and responsiveness What Makes This Role Compelling You'll work in an integrated team environment where your input shapes infrastructure decisions The role balances operational stability with forward-looking design and improvement Exposure to both Windows and Linux ecosystems at an enterprise scale Opportunity to influence system lifecycle management and reliability practices What You Bring Proven ability to independently manage systems under general supervision Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to operational detail Interest in staying current with evolving technologies and infrastructure trends If you're looking for a role where your technical skills directly contribute to a stable, secure, and evolving IT environment-and where your ideas are valued-this could be a great fit.
What We're Looking For Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree Two (2) years of experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: Windows, or Linux systems administration. Hardware troubleshooting and maintenance of servers, peripherals, and networking systems preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Skills Required:
Knowledge of one or more of the following is required; familiarity of the rest is desired: Windows or Linux. Familiarity with servers from HPE, Dell, and Supermicro Ability to troubleshoot a variety of environments Must be able to travel between campuses

The final salary offer will be determined based on a variety of factors, including equity, available budget, educational background, and relevant experience.
