Start Date:
ASAP Position Overview We are seeking a Quality Specialist to support Quality and Food Safety programs at a manufacturing facility in Florence, KY. This position will help maintain compliance with regulatory, customer, and company requirements while supporting continuous improvement across quality and food safety operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, food safety, manufacturing, compliance, auditing, and risk assessment. This is a great opportunity for someone with a Bachelor's degree who is looking to grow their career in a manufacturing quality environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain and improve local Quality and Food Safety programs in alignment with company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Support quality and food safety documentation and related site programs. Support programs related to food defense, Halal, Kosher, Organic, and other applicable requirements. Manage customer complaints and help drive improvements related to customer requirements. Lead and perform internal audits and monthly food safety inspections. Support internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits. Assist with audit findings, corrective actions, and improvement plans. Manage food safety non-conformances, including root cause analysis, trend analysis, and follow-up actions. Conduct and support vendor audits. Provide training, coaching, and guidance to employees on quality and food safety requirements. Participate in quality and food safety improvement projects. Monitor quality notifications and ensure timely completion and compliance. Work with customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to address quality and compliance requirements. Maintain accurate quality records and documentation. Support the implementation of new or updated quality and food safety policies and requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field . 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Quality Management, or a related field preferred. Manufacturing experience is a plus. Strong understanding of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems . Experience with
ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC
22000, FDA/PCQI, Food Defense, Kosher, or related programs preferred. Experience with internal or lead auditing preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels as well as customers, vendors, and suppliers. Strong computer skills; experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and database systems preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
