Job Description
Title of Position:
Data Systems Administrator
Reports to: Executive Director of Student Management Systems
Start Date:
ASAP
Work Year:
Twelve Months (260 days)
Responsibilities:
Serve as the District's Student Information System (SIS) Administrator
Manage district data systems; establish and ensure accuracy, efficiency and integrity in data collection, maintenance, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with data privacy requirements and protection of Personally Identifiable Information.
Coordinate security of district data systems with the City IT department.
Facilitate the accurate transmission of data for state and federal reporting, including but not limited to, SIMS, EPIMS, School Course Schedule (SCS), Student Discipline Report (SSDR), School Attending Report and Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC).
Maintain the daily operation, growth, customization, and expansion of the student information system including but not limited to, ASPEN SIS and related integrations.
Ensure data integrity by following district and state data standards and performing routine data verification activities
Establish and implement protocols for the entry and ongoing maintenance of all student information
Write custom queries, reports, and data exports as needed
Serve as district contact for all data management systems, as directed, including but not limited to, Aspen, Edwin Analytics, Apptegy, TeachPoint (Vector), Open Architects (data dashboards), Badge Security Access, Cognia (MCAS), RAVE App (security/emergency services)
Maintain and manage imports and exports data among the above mentioned data systems
Serve as district contact and point person for logon and password troubleshooting for users in the above mentioned data systems
Coordinate imports of student assessment results into identified management systems
Assist in maintenance and preparation of student test data
Automates file uploads and processes
Reviews data for inconsistencies and outliers at regular intervals
Support Ed Tech integrations
Document processes, train staff, and provide support for data and data services
Support all buildings in reporting, as well as data rollover for new school year
Any other general duties as determined by the Executive Director of Student Management Systems or designee
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
Experience with the following:
Student Information Systems
MA DESE Security Portal / Reporting System and requirements
Data extraction, reporting and integration
Demonstrate a high level of organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
Advanced Database management ability, Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge and understanding of SQL
XML and/or Java skill or understanding
Jaspersoft Studio (iReport) Experience
Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
Be detail-oriented and work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Maintain confidentiality of staff and student records
Interact effectively with school staff, administrators, and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Demonstrated experience working with student information systems and other data tools
