Job Requirements APG, MD Secret Polygraph not specified Mid Level Career (5+ yrs experience) $50 - $60 Job Description Description On-site in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Our client seeks a Senior System Administrator to provide functional and empirical analysis of software systems and administer primarily Linux environments with some Windows support. The role is onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground and may follow a 4x10 or 5x8 schedule. The position includes server installation and upgrades, troubleshooting, end-user device support, system monitoring, backup procedure development, and testing of operating systems, networking software, and hardware. Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities Provide functional and empirical analysis of software systems. Administer Linux and Windows systems and networks with emphasis on Linux. Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers. Provide software support for laptops, desktops, and printers, including hardware configuration and network design support. Monitor system configuration, including server event logs. Test operating systems, networking software, and computer hardware. Develop and monitor server backup procedures. Experience Requirements Knowledge of TCP/IP, information security and authorization profiles, or system administration of Linux or Windows networks and systems. Linux experience is prioritized. Experience managing servers, including installation, upgrades, and problem resolution. Experience supporting end-user devices and configuring hardware. Experience monitoring system configurations and event logs. Experience testing OS, networking software, and hardware. Experience implementing and monitoring backup procedures. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another engineering or technical discipline. Five years of experience within the last eight years. Active Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI.
