  • Position SummaryThe UAV Systems Specialist supports the design, integration, fabrication, testing, operation, and sustainment of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and associated subsystems.
This role serves as a hands-on technical contributor bridging engineering, fabrication, flight operations, and event support, with a focus on rapid prototyping, system reliability, and mission execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support assembly, integration, and modification of fixed-wing and multirotor UAS platforms
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain avionics, propulsion systems, payloads, and communications hardware
  • Assist with system-level testing, ground checks, and flight readiness activities
  • Support flight operations, test events, and field deployments as required
  • Execute diagnostics and root-cause analysis on UAS hardware and subsystems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and configuration records
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems Engineering teams
  • Support rapid turnaround and high-tempo tasking tied to customer-driven timelines
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Engineering, Aviation Technology, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience
  • 3-7 years of experience supporting UAS platforms or complex electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with UAS assembly, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with avionics, RF systems, power distribution, and propulsion systems
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and system schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and configuration discipline
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
  • Experience supporting government or defense programs
  • Familiarity with flight control software, ground control stations, and telemetry systems
  • Experience supporting test events, field operations, or deployed environments
  • Working knowledge of CAD, basic scripting, or networked systems
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one -

Pay Range:
T are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
