Technology, Software, IT, Electronics Description Description SAIC is seeking a System Administrator Associate to be managing and maintaining systems across Windows, macOS, and/or Linux platforms across multiple networks in support of the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD . Work is performed on site. You will be a part of a diverse team supporting globally distributed information systems, responsible for the analysis, administration, voice, video, and data communications networks. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers and workstations, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Manage Windows Server environments and support Active Directory, Group Policy, and MECM operations.
- Install and configure operating systems and software updates following Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Perform system patching, PowerShell scripting, and release management activities.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability of network resources.
- Schedule and maintain system backups, ensuring data/media recoverability and integrity.
- Conduct routine audits for compliance with DoD security standards.
- Document system configurations and maintain a comprehensive hardware/software library.
- Collaborate with IT and Cyber Security teams to support remediation, patching, and vulnerability scanning efforts.
- Work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing structures and new requirements.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience :
Bachelors and 0 years related experience, or HS Diploma and four (4) years of related experience. Experience working in an IT or Service Desk environment.Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Required Certification:
- IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
- MAC OS, Red Hat Certified System Admin, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification
Preferred:
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification
- Microsoft operating system environment certification (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11, or Microsoft Server 2019, etc.).
- Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
- Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
- Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
