MANTECH seeks an experienced and passionate, career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Administrator to join our team located in the Fort Meade, MD area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide comprehensive administration and support for multi-platform operating system environments. Design and implement automated security hardening solutions to enhance scalability and streamline operating system deployments. Configure and maintain host-based security and intrusion detection systems. Monitor system performance and investigate detected anomalies to ensure operational integrity. Develop and deploy automation scripts to manage server integration and reduce manual configuration errors. Analyze system and security logs to identify and respond to real-time events and provide status updates to leadership. Engineer automation workflows for identity and access management to replace manual account provisioning processes. Conduct regular audits to verify security compliance and identify potential vulnerabilities or configuration gaps. Participate in design and review meetings to provide technical insights, project goals, and status updates to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years of relevant Systems Administration experience; or an Associate's degree with 15+ years' experience. 10+ years of experience in systems administration of software and hardware supporting IT system development and testing. Extensive experience with Linux administration and enterprise-level operating systems. Experience utilizing Ansible or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools. Experience with NiFi or cross-domain solutions. Experience managing enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware or similar) and associated Storage Area Networks (SAN).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, SaltStack, or Puppet. Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Perl. Experience collaborating with teams to integrate and deploy new technologies into production environments. Knowledge of network devices (routers, switches, gateways) and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DHCP, and DNS.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
