Job Description

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Systems Administrator / Help Desk Engineer to support a cutting-edge Agile software development program for an Intelligence Community customer. The qualified candidate must have an active TS/SCI security clearance and will ensure the stability, security, and performance of the cloud and on-premises environments that enable mission users and Agile teams. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise across Linux and Windows systems, thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges, and delivers responsive support in a fast-paced, classified environment. This role requires committing to either a morning shift starting at 6 AM EST or an evening shift ending at 10 PM EST. •This job requires active TS/SCI clearance. Responsibilities:
This position leads systems operations and ensures the availability, reliability, and security of infrastructure supporting geospatial analytics, software development, and data services. Duties include administering Linux and Windows-based systems; diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and end-user issues while managing support tickets through resolution; architecting and managing server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM); performing OS installation, configuration, hardening, and patching in compliance with DoD STIGs; and monitoring and tuning system performance through root cause analysis. The role also maintains automation scripts and infrastructure as code (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash), supports backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning, maintains system documentation and configuration baselines, and collaborates with cybersecurity, network engineering, and software development teams. Additional duties include leading deployment of system enhancements and modernization initiatives and participating in security audits, incident response, and operational readiness activities.
Required Skills/Experience:
Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS) and Windows Server system administration Architecting and managing server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure (VMware, KVM) Automation and scripting with Ansible, Bash, PowerShell, and Python Cloud platforms (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and hybrid cloud environments STIG compliance, system hardening, ACAS scans, and RMF processes Enterprise networking, identity/access management, and storage concepts Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and end-user issues and managing support tickets through resolution Supporting IC or DoD classified environments
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience supporting GEOINT missions DevOps tools and pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Docker) Enterprise backup and recovery solutions
DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and PKI Qualifications:
Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance Ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline North Point Technology is
