Share this job Network Administrator East Lansing, MI Apply for this job Information Technology Professional Position Overview The Information Technology Professional will provide support for and develop moderately complex solutions related to computing systems, Linux environments, and network infrastructure. This role supports systems administration, configuration management automation, application deployment, and network management activities within a primarily Linux and Juniper-based environment. The position works closely with infrastructure teams, developers, and stakeholders in an Agile Scrum environment to support operational and project objectives. Key Responsibilities Support and develop information technology systems in areas including: Automated Linux system installation Linux system configuration automation Automated application installation and maintenance Network services and network configuration Support and maintain office infrastructure and controls infrastructure networks Independently develop moderately complex technical solutions to resolve system and end-user issues Provide first-level diagnostic and technical support Troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues across multiple IT domains Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate team members when necessary Perform work in accordance with organizational policies, standards, and best practices Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team environment Manage moderately complex projects within established project management frameworks Continue developing technical skills relevant to organizational technologies and initiatives Team & Project Responsibilities Execute work to meet project milestones and performance objectives Follow approved work control plans and procedures Stop work and notify management when discrepant conditions are identified Perform work safely and maintain quality standards Deliver quality work under supervision and within time-sensitive environments Support multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining quality deliverables Maintain departmental and division procedures and documentation Participate in training and implementation of new systems and technologies Assist with development of project scope, cost, and scheduling Help manage project resources and equipment allocation Support execution of work to meet project objectives Identify opportunities for process or technology improvements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to complete or supervise responsibilities at a high level of quality Experience supporting Linux-based systems environments Understanding of network infrastructure and technologies Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science Information Systems STEM-related field Programming experience with one or more of the following: C C++ Python Experience with: BASH shell scripting Git version control Linux command-line environments System configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible Ethernet networking technologies including TCP/IP, switching, and routing Virtualization and containerization technologies such as: VMware KVM Docker LXC Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies Ability to work with export-controlled items Ability to work outside normal business hours as needed for maintenance or repair activities Work Environment Primarily Linux-based systems environment Primarily Juniper-based network environment Agile Scrum team environment Collaboration with internal teams, project leaders, subject matter experts, and suppliers Reporting Structure Reports to the Group Leader EOE (including Disability/Veterans) #HRUPRofessional Apply for this job
