DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a hands-on IT professional to support endpoint deployment and management, user support, Microsoft 365 services, and office IT operations in a research and corporate environment.
The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the IT team responsible for workstation lifecycle management, onboarding and offboarding activities, endpoint security and compliance, and day-to-day technical support for end users. The role also provides opportunities to develop automation solutions and participate in Linux, storage, and research computing initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and support Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints throughout their lifecycle, including provisioning, maintenance, and retirement
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including hardware deployment, software configuration, account provisioning, and access management
Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and Microsoft Defender
Provide first- and second-level technical support for endpoint, application, networking, and user-related issues
Maintain endpoint standards, inventory, deployment processes, and device compliance
Support datacenter operations, environmental monitoring and datacenter infrastructure systems
Support office IT infrastructure, including networking, printers, conference room technology, and Teams phone services
Develop and maintain automation solutions and operational tools using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and user guides
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
7+ years of IT systems administration, endpoint management, or IT operations experience
Strong experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows desktop and laptop systems
Experience supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and Microsoft Defender
Experience supporting and troubleshooting macOS systems
Experience managing endpoint lifecycle processes, including onboarding, deployment, maintenance, and retirement
Experience administering helpdesk or IT service management platform
Strong troubleshooting skills across endpoint, application, and networking technologies
Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VLAN concepts
Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar tools
Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience administering Linux desktop and server systems
Experience with Ansible or other configuration management and automation platforms
Experience with enterprise storage technologies, including NFS, NAS, SAN, or distributed storage systems
Experience supporting physical security, access-control, or facility management systems
Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry computer equipment and peripherals weighing up to 35 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching to install or repair equipment.
Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access network cabling or mounted devices.
Manual dexterity to operate tools, handle small components, and connect cables.
Visual acuity to read technical manuals, labels, and computer screens.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000/annually + bonus + benefits, depending upon the selected candidate's relevant experience and area of expertise. This role is eligible to participate in the Company's bonus/incentive program.
