Job Description
STAIR Galleries is a premier auction house located in the heart of Hudson, NY, known for our commitment to excellence, personalized client service, and expertise in fine art, antiques, and collectibles. We're looking for a polished, personable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Client Services & Auction Support Associate. We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Junior System Administrator to join our IT team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting our core technology infrastructure. This is an exceptional opportunity for an IT professional to grow their hands-on expertise in cloud environments, automated scripting, and modern communication platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong problem-solving mindset, a passion for learning new technologies, and a solid baseline of technical skills across cloud administration and hardware troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities Systems & Cloud Support:
Assist with the daily administration, user management, and monitoring of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams).Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end-users both locally and remotely.Automation & Scripting:
Write and modify basic Python scripts to automate routine administrative tasks, generate reports, and streamline workflows.VOIP Management:
Assist with the provisioning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of our Voice over IP (VOIP) phone systems and user endpoints.Documentation & Asset Management:
Maintain accurate IT inventory records and document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and user guides.Collaboration:
Work closely with senior IT staff on infrastructure projects, security audits, and system upgrades.Auction Day Support:
Set up and run live production systems for 30+ auctions per year (typically on Wednesdays or Thursdays). This may include operating a bidding platform, phone bidding, and other sale-day activities as needed.Qualifications & Skills Required:
Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Administration (for example, managing resource groups, basic networking, and virtual machines) and Microsoft 365 Administration. Foundational knowledge of Python (core syntax, loops, functions) with an interest in applying it to IT automation. Strong analytical skills to diagnose desktop, application, and basic network connectivity issues. Exposure to or basic experience with configuring and managing VOIP communication systems. Excellent communication skills, a customer-service-oriented attitude, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.Preferred:
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification.Microsoft Certified:
Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Microsoft 365Certified:
Fundamentals (MS-900). Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).For Auction Set-Up:
Experience with livestreaming services (YouTube/Twitch). Experience with OBS and Voicemeeter. Experience troubleshooting A/V systems in a live production environment.
