Job Description

job summary: Join a team dedicated to developing Linux-based validation operating systems for next-generation Cobalt SoC compute products. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on industry-leading hardware destined for the Azure fleet, ensuring high performance and stability at the kernel level.
location:
Beaverton, Oregon job type: Contract salary: $53.02 - 63.02 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain Linux kernel components to support new hardware features and improve performance. Design, implement, and debug device drivers for a range of hardware devices to ensure seamless integration. Troubleshoot and resolve kernel and driver issues, including performance bottlenecks and system crashes. Modify existing databases and database management systems as required by the project scope. Support production systems by monitoring kernel and driver health and responding to incidents. Coordinate with the project team to determine development scope and estimate time/cost requirements.
qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Linux kernel development and device driver programming (C/C++). Deep understanding of operating system internals and low-level hardware-software interactions. Proficiency with git, kernel build systems, and standard open-source workflows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Active contributor to the Linux open-source community or experience with upstreaming. Strong background in troubleshooting operating system-level software and compilers. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
