In this role, you won't just manage a single environment; you will take ownership of hybrid infrastructures across a diverse client portfolio. This is not a "keep the lights on" role. We are looking for an engineer who brings a consultative mindset to every ticket and project—focusing on automation-first strategies, proactive monitoring, and robust security governance. You will act as a technical lead for on-premise storage and virtualization while managing AWS deployments and Identity Management stacks. Beyond the technical execution, you will serve as a trusted advisor, partnering with clients to author and develop critical IT policies that ensure their data retention, disaster recovery, and security postures are mature and compliant. Key Responsibilities Multi-Client Infrastructure & Virtualization Architect, manage, and optimize virtualization environments across various client sites, with a heavy focus on VMware and Proxmox clusters. Manage and maintain high-availability storage systems across different hardware generations and vendors, specifically utilizing Synology, TrueNAS, and Dell Unisphere environments. Deploy and scale AWS resources for multiple tenants, ensuring cost-efficiency, proper segmentation, and security best practices. Networking & Security Maintain and troubleshoot Intermediate-level networking across a multi-vendor stack. You must be comfortable navigating complex topologies involving Juniper switches, Meraki cloud-managed infrastructure, and Palo Alto firewalls. Serve as the primary administrator for Identity Providers, specifically Okta and Active Directory, managing SSO, MFA, and complex lifecycle management workflows. Audit client environments to enforce a Least Privileged Access model across all systems. Automation & Proactive Monitoring Automate wherever possible. Utilize scripting and orchestration to standardize deployments and eliminate repetitive manual tasks across the client base. Own the central monitoring ecosystem, utilizing Zabbix to configure custom triggers, templates, and alerts that cater to specific client SLAs. Adopt a proactive stance on system health—identifying and resolving latency or capacity trends before they impact client operations. Governance & Policy Development Collaborate directly with clients to write, develop, and maintain IT policies tailored to their specific business requirements. Focus on defining and testing Backup & Retention policies, Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, and Data Security standards.
Required Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of experience in
Systems Administration Virtualization:
Expertise managing VMware (vSphere/ESXi) and Proxmox VE, with the ability to adapt to other hypervisors as needed.

Advanced configuration skills in Zabbix (creating templates, custom parameters).
Consultative Skills:
Ability to translate technical risks into business policies (DR, Backups, Security) for non-technical client stakeholders. Desired Skills Experience migrating workloads between virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware to Proxmox). Scripting proficiency in Python or Bash for automation and Zabbix custom parameters. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible) for standardizing client deployments The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this System Administrator position is $95k-$120K.
